Too Funny...and True!

I thought World of WarCraft was a pretty pointless and time-consuming game but apparently there is one benefit I had never thought of :)!

If We Don't Look Good, She Don't Look Good

So after seeing their other cousins sporting their fabulous new summertime hairdos we decided to get the girls locks cut too. My amazing sister Amy had us come in and experience a "big girl"haircut complete with hairwashing and blow dry.

A Nervouse Smile

Ahhh...Like thousands of little water finger tickling my head

Who is that girl in the mirror?

Tessa just got her 80's hair evened out a little, but the result was a big improvement.

Lots of hair, but no style

This is the natural curl in her hair

So a big shout out to our favorite Stylist and Aunt...Amy. Thank you for the great new do's. We'll try to make you proud!
Just as a little hint...if you are anywhere near the Ogden area and want a great stylist, she's the girl for you. Just the right amount of chatter to make it feel like therapy but also experience and professionalism to make sure your look FABULOUS!

Houdini

Tessa has become quite the escape artist...from her clothes. She knows how to unzip her footed pajamas and has been only in her diaper on a couple of mornings. But the other Kylie alerted me to yet another escape...or do I say near escape after nap time...

To Whom It May Concern

Dear Makers of Maternity Clothes (aka "Men"),

A quick question...why do you feel it is necessary to put very large buttons and snaps on the rear pockets? Do you think that we enjoy objects protruding from our behind or that we like to be prodded in the cheek each time we manage to sit ourselves down. I assure you we are prodded enough in our 9 months and we do not need more torture.

Also, in case you were wondering (1) We would like to wear colors other than black and (2) we do not feel it necessary to show off our chest during this time...yes, yes we do get quite the rack but enough of the V-necks.

What we would like is more in style clothing with a little length to cover our growing baby bump!

Sincerely,
Annoyed Mommy

Little Helper

Sometimes my daughter disappears for a few minutes. It becomes quiet and I think about going to find her but she usually is doing this...

That's right making MY bed. Somehow my room is always the messiest and I confess I don't make my bed that often. Usually when she's done she makes me close my eyes and leads me into my room and looking at the bed I am impressed that at 4 she makes a bed better than her dad :)

Also, she asks to wash the dishes. For just such occasions I purchased the fabulous pink chef hat and apron.

I know what you are thinking and...No she is not for hire and yes I am so glad that I have a daughter who will always be a great helper!

Handy

I think my husband has come down with builder's brain...not unlike the green thumb it is the only virus/sickness that I will actually enojoy. It's symptoms are: frequent trips to hardware stores and sounds of sawing/hammering/drilling. But the end result is this:

And this:

Yes we like to store these as our food storage items. They are great to nibble on, have a great shelf life...and no these are not orphans :)

The One Good Thing About Wind...

is that it makes for great Kite Flying. Kylie is becoming a pro at flying both her Strawberry Shortcake and My Little Pony Kites...I am simply the cheerleader and retrieval woman. And I must say the dollar store kites are very easy to assemble and fly pretty darn well!

No More Complaining

Did you know Rats only have a 21 day gestation period, meaning they get pregnant and deliver in 21 days. Must be nice!
Hamsters it's 16. Kanagaroos it's 40 and Lion's only 108. And yes, the camel, the giraffe and the elephant all have me beat with 406, 425, and 640 days respectively. But what can carry a fetus for 21,900 days?

Apparently a woman!
Okay so I read this way creepy article about a woman who has been carrying a baby for 60 YEARS!! It's called a lithopedian or "stone baby" because in this rare case the baby doesn't make it to the womb and then begins to calicify.

I will never complain about a 9 month (40 week, 280 day) gestation period again!

Bye Bye Bachelor

I have officially watched my last episode of The Bachelor! I have watched many a seasons as it never worked out but this season really solidified my resolve to be done with the show. I always blamed the "lack of a happily ever after" on the people involved. Most of the time I felt the Bachelors weren't looking for love but a good time with a lot of women. But I truly felt this season would be different because all involved were looking for love and really wanted to settle down.
So I am done being a Bachelor watcher for 2 reasons:
(1)The Bachelor, After the Final Rose was the meanest thing I have ever seen. Let's bring poor Melissa on stage and let her be dumped on national television! SERIOUSLY! Shame on Jason! He knows what a feels like to be rejected. I think Melissa was dead on with everything she said...especially when she said that she only wanted to be engaged once and he took that from her. Then in the same night he's making out with Molly on the same couch he broke Melissa's heart on. I like both girls and I think Jason should be happy in the end...but that was tacky!
(2) It is and always will be a flawed process. I do not believe that any married couple who says their spouse does not have flaws/shortcomings. The secret of a happy marriage is to love their strengths and their good qualities so much that those other things don't seem to matter. When you have that many people you are dating it is easy to fall in love with different qualities, because no one person will ever have EVERYTHING you think you want or need.
I think back to when I met my husband. He was really the first person I felt I couldn't live without. We were very different people, but He chose me and I chose him. Our first year together was very hard. I was overly sensitive, he was overly blunt. Some of our goals, habits, etc. didn't mesh. But over the years we have smoothed out the rough edges on each other and have come to fit together more perfectly with every passing year. I thought It would always bug me how ananlytical he was about everything. But I feel I make better decisions, and am more organized because of him. I would hope he would say I taught him compassion and sensitivity.
But how different would our courtship have been is there was always another person I liked waiting in the wing. Would our first fight or disagreement have been our last? The show is very compartmentalized. You can make out with and say one thing to one girl one day and then to another the next. In real life, this doesn't happen. So really I don't think there will ever be another happy ending on the Bachelor and I should stop watching and focus on my own!
