Baby Baylor

BAYLOR EVAN NELSON
It was a crazy ride the last couple weeks of carrying Baylor.  There were birthday parties, cousins and a business trip that made me hope he wouldn't come on those days and then when I was ready for him he was content to stay inside.  My induction date was changed a time or two but before I could get induced this little sweetheart decided to come on his own.
From the time I arrived at the hospital until he was born was just under 3 hours. And he was good enough to wait to come until after midnight (1:02 am) so he and sister Mallory didn't have to share birthdays :)
He weighed 8 lbs 10 oz and was 21 inches long.
He has the perfect amount of hair and it's a pretty brown mixed with yellow and a hint of red.
He has little chubby cheeks and a cute nose.
He is a very calm baby.  He rarely cries and is easily comforted.
As I was looking through hundreds of baby name lists I really like the "B" names. When I read the list of names to Kody and the girls the girls yelled "yes" when I said Baylor.  I like it because it isn't a very common name but is still easy to spell.
Baylor's middle name Evan is because Kody and I both had grandpa's named Evan.  And though Baylor is not named after a piece of farming equipment we do like that it is a little tie to his great grandfathers' farming roots.
We are so in love with this sweet  baby boy and are so glad he is part of our family!

Look Who's Three!

Look Who's Three!
I can't believe my little Mallory Jane is not a toddler anymore but a little girl!
Mallory is a sweet girl, I like to use the words "easily entreated"...you can use usually get her to see what's the right things and usually responds "sure!"
Mallory is a really good eater (especially cereal) even though her tiny little frame would suggest otherwise.
Mallory likes to wear skirts and tell me how to do her hair each day...she really like ponytails and twisty braids.
She loves anything to do with school, especially coloring. She has good fine motor skills and stays in the lines very well!
Her favorite princess is Cinderella. She likes purple and pink.  She likes to watch cartoons (Super Why, Dinosaur Train, Sesame Street) and Tangled and Tinkerbell movies are her favorite!
Mallory has a great memory and remembers the words to many songs and is a good little singer!
She loves nursery each sunday!
Her best friends are her sisters, her cousin Kelcey and our new neighbor Ellen.
She wants to be a fireman when she grows up!
This year Mallory learned to write her name, peddle a bike with training wheels, write her name, and how to go potty.

Princess Party

With our baby being due June 28th we decided we better move up Mallory's June 25th birthday.  We had our cousins staying over last weekend so we decided it was a good time as any for a PRINCESS PARTY!
The day started with a gift from Dad...A dress and glass slippers that matched those of her favorite princess Cinderella!
We did a Cinderella hair do and put on a Cinderella crown!
And made sure all the other little princesses were decked out as well!

We started the party with decorating crowns.

Then we played "Don't Eat the Princess!"
And whacked the castle pinata.
Usually after everyone gets a turn we get dad to bust open the pinata...but no need this year...Cinderella has a great swing!
Cinderella taught all the little princesses how to wave,
dance,
and pose!

The part ended with a light lunch and princess cupcakes.

We loved our special guest Cinderella and are so grateful to her for making our Princess Party so MAGICAL!

Imagination

The thing I love most about Tessa is her imagination!  One day when the weather was nice she took the sidewalk chalk and drew a house.

These are beds
This is the bathroom
Stairs
Table
Crib
and of course Ipods and Tablets!

I love Tessa's creativity and drawing skills!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

This past weekend my sister ran Ragnar and my parents were out of town so we got to have my little sister and nieces over for the weekend!
My girls were in heaven and counted down the days!  We watched movies, stayed up late and even made a little trip to the Splash Pad!
Here are the bathing beauties!
The Splash Pad is right next to this awesome park! The girls loved mastering all the equipment!

We ended the night with a birthday cake for Mallory.  It's kind of hard for such a little girl to blow out all those candles :)
