Growing Up!

Mallory turned 18months old on Christmas day but we just took her in this week for her checkup. She weighs 21 lbs 4 oz and is 32.8" long. She in the 10% for weight and 90% for height.

Mallory is a prett happy girl and is learning more and more every day.

Now that she no longer drinks bottles she is a very good eater. Her favorite foods are cheese, bananas, and pizza. She has discovered Sesame Street and loves Elmo and Abbey. She is a sweet girl and we love her hugs, kisses, and when she touches foreheads with us~!

Bring on 2011

New Year's Eve is a little tricky once you have kids...but this year the cabin, once again, saved the day. We spent the day playing in the snow and snacking! My sister and I started a 500 piece puzzle...it was a little addicting. We were so pleased with ourselves when we finished!
We played a few games and then lucky for us someone started shooting off fireworks across the lake.
So we counted down, drank some bubbly, and popped off some poppers!

2010 was a great year so I say bring on 2011!

Little Pink Boots

We were excited to get some snow up at the cabin. It was time for our maiden voyage on the snowmobiles. We loaded up the snow mobiles, and drove a little way up Logan Canyon to a spot known as "The Bowl." It was cold...like 8 degrees cold.

Mallory lasted all of 15 minutes...so it was a short voyage to say the least.
We tried again over the holiday break. I was still a little nervous because it was 10 degrees outside. The air was colder than the lake and so there was this cool steam rising off Bear Lake!

But the day was sunny wind with no wind and there was enough snow to snow mobile around the cabin. We had a blast!

We also left some carrots for the wild rabbits that live around the cabin...how did they ever survive without us?

As I was cleaning up all the hats, scarves, mittens, snow pants and coats I saw these...and realized how blessed I am to have these three little pink boot wearers in my life!

For Grandma...but you can look too!

Dear Grandma,
Thanks for the beautiful dresses and the cute little hats! They make us feel so pretty!

Love,
Kylie, Tessa, and Mallory

Kind of...a Christmas Card

I really wanted to send out a Christmas Letter and Card but I don't know something just was holding me back. This year, more than any other, has really impressed upon me how BLESSED I am. I catch myself saying, "lucky," but then I try to correct myself noting that good health, a warm home, food, jobs, and each other is really a "Blessing!"
So I guess I didn't send a card out because I was afraid it might sound corny, and I feel a little guilty. How can I tell about/show all my blessings when so many around me are going through trials?
I really didn't know the answer, so here is my Kind Of Christmas Card with a few of my Blessings!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! HERE's WISHING YOU A "BLESSED" NEW YEAR!
Love, the Nelsons

*Note: If I had been able to find a "Santa" dress in Kody's size he would've been pictured here too...but alas you will have to just form that image in your mind yourself. :)

Christmas Day

I think, in the word's of Kylie, this was the "Best Christmas Ever!"
We woke up (not so) early Christmas Morning.
Love that my girls' excitement doesn't override their desire to sleep in.
We checked out what Santa brought, opened our presents,

played with our toys

and then headed up to my parents to see what Santa brought Grandma and Grandpa!

Aren't they cute? There's somethin' about being on a four wheeler that make you feel young again!

Next we headed up to the ward building for the Memmott Christmas Party. We socialized with cousins, ate yummy soup and bread sticks, and pulled off another Broadway-Worthy rendition of the nativity (even though our heavenly host is bulging and our shepherd herd is dwindling). We gotta get some more boys in this family!:)
