Snow Day...HECK...Snow Weekend!

Late Thursday afternoon it started snowing.  The National Weather Service issued a severe weather warning effective until Saturday afternoon.

Friday school was closed.  The girls really enjoyed their Snow Day eating pancakes and staying in their pajamas making snow forts.

The snow really piled up.

By Saturday we had about 30 inches! 

The storm was named "Gandolph" by the National Weather Service.

Saturday the snow finally let up and we had some fun!

Kody helped the girls make a snow cave.

We did some sledding.

We relaxed in what we called "snow chairs."

We decided to make the cave into a tunnel and give it a little pizzaz with some colored water.

We made snow slushies using clean snow and some pina colada snow cone syrup mom had left over from summer.

Then Kody and the two older girls took the ultimate plunge sliding down the large retaining rocks down the side of our house.

Oh how we LOVE the snow...on the weekend!
