Princess Party

With our baby being due June 28th we decided we better move up Mallory's June 25th birthday.  We had our cousins staying over last weekend so we decided it was a good time as any for a PRINCESS PARTY!
The day started with a gift from Dad...A dress and glass slippers that matched those of her favorite princess Cinderella!
We did a Cinderella hair do and put on a Cinderella crown!
And made sure all the other little princesses were decked out as well!

We started the party with decorating crowns.

Then we played "Don't Eat the Princess!"
And whacked the castle pinata.
Usually after everyone gets a turn we get dad to bust open the pinata...but no need this year...Cinderella has a great swing!
Cinderella taught all the little princesses how to wave,
dance,
and pose!

The part ended with a light lunch and princess cupcakes.

We loved our special guest Cinderella and are so grateful to her for making our Princess Party so MAGICAL!

Imagination

The thing I love most about Tessa is her imagination!  One day when the weather was nice she took the sidewalk chalk and drew a house.

These are beds
This is the bathroom
Stairs
Table
Crib
and of course Ipods and Tablets!

I love Tessa's creativity and drawing skills!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

This past weekend my sister ran Ragnar and my parents were out of town so we got to have my little sister and nieces over for the weekend!
My girls were in heaven and counted down the days!  We watched movies, stayed up late and even made a little trip to the Splash Pad!
Here are the bathing beauties!
The Splash Pad is right next to this awesome park! The girls loved mastering all the equipment!

We ended the night with a birthday cake for Mallory.  It's kind of hard for such a little girl to blow out all those candles :)

Fisherwomen!

In an effort to raise more well rounded girls we try to spend alot of time experiencing the great outdoors.  Kody mentioned to me that he should take the girls fishing but we couldn't decide on a good fish farm.
A week later when we were up at Bear Lake my dad let us know that a new fishing pond  had opened up...what a coincidence! We weren't prepared that weekend but the next time we were up we made sure to bring our fish bucket, pole, and powerbait.

I like to think that the girls are pretty good fisherwomen because we caught five in under an hour....I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that they stocked 1,500 fish :)
Our Dad was a great sport running between girls casting, putting on more powerbait, and taking fish off the line!

Hot Tub! Hot Dog!

It was Memorial Day once again...and once again the Utah weather was cold, cold, cold!  Lucky for us the week before our dad, grandpa, and uncle installed a HOT TUB!

It was a lifesaver! The second day we were there temperatures were in the 40's and there was driving rain. The kids bugged us all day to get in the hot tub.  We kept telling them it was way too cold and finally after hours of whining we let them experience the "natural consequences of their decision."

Some only lasted a few minutes and when their freezing faces could stand no more they resorted to a warm bath inside.
The die hards toughed it out for a half hour jumping and twisting to keep warm and earning the title of "Hurrican Hot Tubbers!"

It was too cold to go to the beach but good fortune was smiling on us because the city had recently put in a little fishing pond!

It was also Kylie's first time on her new four wheeler!

But who needs good weather when you've got cousins
and grandparents to share good food, games, and fun!

The Battle of Ft. McHenry

Kylie's 2nd grade class put on  an Opera about the Battle of Ft. McHenry.
Kylie played the part of a British soldier. The whole class did a great job and the Opera was so cute!

And the best part was that Grandpa, Grandma and Aly came to watch!

Here is Kylie modeling one of my favorite of her poses...the raised fist yelling "capture Baltimore!"
And then of course I needed to see her masterful bow one more time!

Here is Kylie and the woman who made everything possible...Mrs. Crown!
Dad...wishing he were a little red coat too!
After the performance Grandpa and Grandma took us for ice cream!

Even though it was Kylie's big performance, Tessa commented it was the "best night of her life!"
